Action. That’s the name of the game after the summer.
A client once said to me the three months of September, October and November are always the busiest of the year for a few reasons:
It’s the ‘2nd half’ of the year so people expect to do more in the same amount of time. [check the calendar dude]
Expectations are screwed from a summer of booze and sport (or sport and booze) - ergo, we come back to work feeling like we are a superhero. [99% of us are not]
Bonuses are based on performance running up to Christmas
Pressures on because August is the most popular month to move house AND divorces happen in January [related? this guy thought so]
So - this newsletter 12 is dedicated to action.
Getting good suppliers
It’s all about the money. Or is it? Rates are increasing alongside perm salaries, the contract market is more buoyant than ever. There are some easy swaps you can make though. Checkout https://www.6prog.com/app/calculator to see if you can lower the cost of working with your suppliers. It means you can share the saving with them.. and therefore no need to get more budget raise meetings in with your boss.

Checkout the comments. Money isn’t the motivator you thought it was, albeit Simon (above) is right.

Last action, if you can, share this with someone who wants to see contract-consulting made better; outside IR35 engagements simpler and happier workers doing great projects; ‘cos that’s what I want too.
